As soon as Christine Birdsall told me of her decision to close UFO Magazine I felt compelled to do something to continue the legacy of Graham.
Within 24 hours I had registered the name UFO Monthly.com with the idea to create a 30 page internet based magazine for researchers and enthusiasts alike.
Between 2001-2004 I had been a constant visitor to the magazine and had become a regular feature writer with regards to my work on the PRUFOS Police Database.
I can honestly say that without there having been a Graham Birdsall and UFO Magazine I would not have become an active Ufologist.
It was the magazine and its non sensationalistic approach to the subject that prompted me to become active. Its views often mirrored many of my own.
I have said in print on many occasions that I believe in the ET hypothesis 100%. I totally accept the general premise that 95% of everything reported as a UFO turns out to have a rational explanation. However I cannot accept that premise in the high calibre witness categories of commercial pilots, military pilots, scientists, senior military officers, astronauts, cosmonauts, radar operators and police officers.
In those areas the percentages are much much lower. If you examine the testimonies of these people the only logical answer is the extraterrestrial hypothesis. Sadly the media do not report or reflect that level of testimony to the public.
Unfortunately UFO Magazine is no more but the work of researchers must go on as Graham would have wanted. I respect Christine Birdsall's decision to close the magazine. I wish her every happiness for the future.
